Aurora, CO (July 21, 2026) – Two people were injured after a crash involving a pickup truck and an electric vehicle at East Quincy Avenue and South Richfield Street in Aurora, Monday afternoon, July 20, as reported by the Aurora Fire Rescue.
When emergency crews arrived, firefighters found flames and smoke coming from the electric vehicle. All occupants had already exited the vehicle, and two people were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the vehicle fire and used a winch to turn the electric vehicle onto its side, allowing them to access the damaged lithium-ion battery. Crews reported that it took about 45 minutes to cool the battery enough for the vehicle to be safely towed.
