Aurora, CO (January 05, 2025) — The Aurora Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Saturday, January 3, along East Colfax Avenue. A 43-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing at a busy intersection, authorities confirmed.
Officers with the Aurora Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 10:57 p.m. at the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Peoria Street. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, police said he later died from his injuries.
According to investigators, the pedestrian was walking through the intersection when he was struck by a white Ford SUV. The SUV was traveling southbound on Peoria Street and reportedly had a green traffic signal at the time of the collision.
Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers. No arrests or citations have been announced at this stage of the investigation.
